Interviewing

It is an amazing experience having to be a researcher. I am a very intuitive person and i love hearing about other people's lives. I sit with girls and interview them to find out the things they need to reach their amazing goals in life. Growing up in northern Nigeria you see young girls who don't go to school and instead hawk in order to help the family. It is a pity that a girl is being deprived of that opportunity in life. By researching we know the problems why girls here don't go to school and the reason for early marriages.
     We were asked the age we think of as early marriage, for me i think a girl should be atleast 20 years of age before getting married even though 18years is the approved age.

I have my MRS certificate and my grade is DISTINCTION.
Getting that certificate and seeing the distinction was the best moment. It was really amazing i loved it.

Spinach juice

This is a raw spinach juice i made.
If you don't like the taste of the raw spinach you can heat it (which is what i did).

Method: wash spinach well. I use salt water to wash it and rinse with plain water. I wash leaf-by-leaf. You put few leaves in the blender and add little water, the leaves should not be much so it doesn't overcrowd. Sieve the juice from the residues. You can refrigerate it or boil it then refrigerate if you wish.

On my next post will post a recipe you can make with the spinach residues. You don't have to throw it away. Recycling baby!

This is me and my little cousins Ali(whom i call baba) and Mariam.

Cooked spinach topped with mayo

This is a plain cooked spinach i made for my dinner. Well i ate it with toast, you can still have it plain it taste really good.

I put the raw spinach in a boiling water and turn it so as to cook.
I then added little salt to make it tasty.
Top it with mayonaise will add taste.

El Oo VE EE {LOVE}

Love can be crazy. I mean you fall in love and you just can't get that person out of your mind. You stay up all night waiting for that one person to call or text you.
People say you fall in love once but i object, you fall in love for as much as your heart can carry (and that is not admiration my darlings).

How to know you are in love.
1. You keep on thinking about the     person.
2. You get all excited when you get a call or text from them.
3. You read the messages they sent you over and over again.
4. It doesn't matter to you how they look, you just like them the way they are.
5. You keep on thinking about your conversations with them.
6. You imagine yourself happily married with the person.
7. You never get tired of talking with him/her.
8. You look at their pics over and over.
9. Staying up all night waiting for their call or text.
10. You get super jealous when they talk to someone you think they might like.

Lots of us have experienced something like this, i mean we all are humans.

spicy spinach, peanut and beef stew with tortilla

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ingredients:

minced beef
ground peanut
spinach
ground cinnamon
curry
crushed garlic
dry ginger powder
dried thyme
lemon grass powder
pepper
salt
stock cubes
tomato paste
onion 
oil

Method:

1. Heat 1tbsp oil in a frying pan and fry beef lightly until golden brown. Remove from oil and set aside.
2. In same pan add a tbsp oil and fry onions to golden brown then add tomato paste and garlic and fry while stirring for 30 secs.
3. Add water to pan and the beef to bring to a boil till meat is tender.
4. Add peanut and spinach.
5. lastly add the remaining spices and taste for salt and pepper.

 I didn't write the measurement of the ingredients cos i forgot to measure when i was cooking, forgive me for that.
